HOW TO LOVE A MONDAY!
Quote of the Day: "Start each day like you have no tomorrow"
Let's be honest for a minute here, MONDAYS suck and suck even more as a college student.
Mondays have always been something dreaded by anyone who feels they're almost pressing a restart on a whole week they just finished going through whether it was good or bad.
Mondays are not only a day of redemption (depending on how crazy your past week/weekend ended), but a chance to start your week off either one of two ways: Positive or Negative.
As we begin another week of class this upcoming week that draws the end of January, I wanted to touch on some tips that we can all find some amount of positive will in to start every other Monday like it's a Friday.
Wake Up, Have Breakfast With a Friend:
Knowing you have a long day ahead of you is something that is hard to accept. So for me, I am not really the so called "breakfast person" but I do wake up wondering when and what I will end up eating. Everyone needs a friend, so what is more better than enjoying a great meal to start your day along with hanging out with a friend? There may be some scheduling conflicts so plan ahead. The only problem you should face Monday morning is whether the check is going to paid for together or separately.
Create The Ultimate Playlist:
Every student has a right to hear the music when they want, where ever they want. I'd advise in setting your own mood for Monday and it can be in a playlist that helps you get through your day. Now for the night you could fill up a playlist with a calming playlist, favorite songs, throwbacks, or whatever fits the mood. I give a chance to new music all the time so think of your Monday as a day to explore a new genre of music. If you are a fan of rap music then I would recommend J. Cole's "4 Your Eyez Only" which is a latest release of the artist. The album tells an amazing story if you follow it from the beginning to end. No matter the music, just hear something that will get your morning or night started. You could title the playlist "#MondayFunday" or something wacky.
Exercise or Join a Gym:
Getting fit and having fun is HAAARRRDDDD... right?
Well on a Monday that is probably a most hated day for you, why not channel that energy into becoming more fit and also working out? Whether you'd prefer a morning or night set.
It may be tough because of course we cannot ignore the fact of classes and working. It's best to plan around all that so you may not be literally dead after a long Monday morning.
Joining a gym is a great tip that I have always been recommended because you get to meet others, go with friends, or just get into shape while feeling good about yourself.
You could even combine the playlist tip to this one. Mondays don't have to be hard if you already have yourself a schedule filled with plans of working on yourself mentally and physically.
